The History of Christianity in America

This course traces the development of Christianity from the Puritans to the present day by focusing on key personalities, ideas and movements that shaped Christian belief and practice in America. It will examine the Christian tradition as it evolved in the United States with particular emphasis given to the reciprocal role of religion and culture as formative influences that contributed to a form of Christianity that is uniquely American.
